*My sweet sweet husband. It was our ninth year anniversary today. happy sigh. I love him. I love that he took the afternoon off just to be with me. I love that I got to lay in bed with him and just look dreamily into his eyes. He's just so handsome.
*joyful thinking of NINE years of memories with him. He is the best decision I. have.ever.made.
*joyful that I have never worried that he wouldn't find a way to provide for our family. He is so motivated and such a hard worker. I love him and admire him for that.
*joyful that I get to have him not only for another nine years, or even ninety for that matter...but for eternity. That alone is worth every hardship we may have to go through in this life.
*joyful that I cannot find words that express the depth of my feelings for him. Joy.
*Don't even get me started on him being a father....

Joyful Moments
Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?

Oh happy anniversary! If i were really on top of things, I would have known it was your anniversary before reading this blog post but alas, I will never be that on top of things. So, Happy Anniversary! I hope that the next 9 years are equally as blissful.
