*talking with a sweet sweet friend, Mrs. Gaylene. Man I love her. I really miss being alley neighbors, and just running over whenever I wanted. It was joyful to hear Miss Abby's contagious laugh on the phone. It was joyful talking with Gaylene because it's real. I never have to pretend all is well when I talk with her. I just wish she could see how immensely talented she is...in more ways than just behind her camera lens. I love you Gaylene!
*The leisure pool. Oh the leisure pool! When it's 100 degrees with high humidity the leisure pool is a very joyful place to be. I loved laughing and swimming with my boys and girl until my eyes stung from the chlorine.

Joyful Moments
Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
