*Having a grateful heart for my pioneer ancestry. Not just my blood relatives, but those of my faith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who sacrificed so much because of their faith. Faith in Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation. Thank you.
*A wonderful night with friends. Simply wonderful. Not stressing about the party beforehand, not stressing during the party. Wonderful conversation with incredible people. Everyone seemed to get along with no awkwardness. Yummy food. Fun games. Lots of laughter.

*Watching my man, my wonderful husbano beat all the men at the stick pull. Seriously, it didn't even look difficult for him. Yup, one more reason I love him...Awesome stick puller.
*A very calm evening of weather. It wasn't super hot, a slight breeze, beautiful sky with clouds. Great.
*Feeling so great that tonight went so well, that I had enough energy (and motivation) to even clean up after everyone went home. Seriously? SCORE!
*Today was a Joyful Day.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
