*Finally getting our cable fixed. Pretty temporal stuff, but still joyful after the PAIN it's been dealing with these guys this past week. Glad it's over so I can focus on more important stuff.
*Reading my sister-in-laws blog and feeling connected to her today.
*Laughing with my kids in the car. I don't even remember what was said. It was just nice to laugh
*Having the sweet Voorhies kids over this morning. It all started with Matthew yelling over the fence "Max, can you play" really loudly until max finally came out of his house. He and his sister came over to play and stayed all morning. It was delightful. The kids played the whole time and it was pure imaginary play. Just as I think childhood should be. My living room was a tent city and Emily literally dumped everything out of the all the Tupperware in the playroom.....but to hear their sayings, their expressions, their discoveries and their giggles.....it was all worth it. We're still not cleaned up and we're not going to be tonight. I'm ok with that. I hope they can come over tomorrow too.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
