*I've been spending so much time with my sister that I haven't had time to write my joyful moments!
*Turning over in bed this morning and seeing my wonderful husband. Knowing he is the best part of my life, my best friend. Wanting to hug him and hold him all morning, but feeling ok that he has to get up and go to work, because I know I'll have him again tonight...and tomorrow...and like forever. Literally. wow.
*Emily trying to convince me to do something I've already said no to. Then she tilts her head ever so slightly to the right, looks up at me out of the corner of her so I get a beautiful view of her three teenie tiny freckles on her nose and check and says, "pleeeze mama"
*Listen to Emily and Hunter (my nephew) chatter in the shoe store today. My favorite was Hunter telling her a story about How to Train Your Dragon. After he finished she said, " wow that was good. Can you please tell me another one." Sweeeeetttt.
*Having my sister give me an honest opinion about these shorts that I've been debating a long time. I like 'em, and they are comfy so I wear them, but I've always wondered if they were too dorky. Sisters' opinions are always so wonderful.
*-This really is a joyful thought- loving my time with my sister and fantasizing how awesome it would be to live just down the street from her. Sigh. Happy sigh. sigh. Wish they just bought their new house in Texas.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
