*being back in Texas...oh Texas. I am a habitual person I've come to realize. When I'm not in my routine for awhile I feel all out of whack. Today I slowly started my routine again and it feels oh so nice.
*spending some extra time with Klint this morning. Watching him get up early to study and following suit...slowly. I got out of bed mostly due to his example. I love him. I love him.
*finding some awesomely comfortable pjs on clearance at Target today. When I got home (around 1:00) I tried them on just to make sure they fit...and then decided they felt waaay to good to take them off. So here I sit ready for bed in my new pjs...that I've had on since lunch :-)
*listening to Justin and Matthew figure out their new toys. Hearing them play together for hours today. Hours. No arguments that I had to fix...a few they were able to work out on their own, which made me ever so happy.
*I cannot even remember anymore what it was all about, but Emily staring into my eyes with our faces really close together. Hearing her giggle. Touching her nose with mine and feeling such love for her.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
