It was good day.
*I worked out and found that I didn't want to die (as I have every time for the last 3 weeks) after. I actually wanted to do a little more because I didn't feel like I got a hard enough workout!! For a few minutes I thought something was wrong with me...then it clicked (duh) that my body may possibly be getting into shape. I'm so glad this day come 'cuz I don't know how much longer I could have lasted at the dying stage.
*Finding a beautiful flower arrangement to give a neighbor who lost her dad. It was so pretty and perfect. And within the price limit we had set. I really love flowers.
*watching Matthew and Emily play on the playground after school. We needed to wait for Justin to finish UIL practices, so we played. It was fun to sit back and watch them. Childhood should be fun.
*Emily wearing her snow white dress all day long. To all the errands, to the gym, to the school, everywhere. It was perfect stinkin' awesome.
*Finishing a project for Emily's room I've been working on for months!! It's not exactly what I envisioned, but it's finished. I refinished an old window, replaced some glass and put black and white pictures in the window panes to hang in her room. It looks a little bigger in her room than I thought it would...but it will hang there because I spent so much stinkin' time on it. :-) At least for a few months.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
