*hahaha realizing that nearly every single post this year I've ended it with 2010 instead of 2011. No sweat it's only the END of January before I realized it :-)
*Eating fine chocolates from Denmark. Thank you Husbando and thank you Marie for bringin' them back!
*Spending the whole day with Emily. Not going anywhere, except to pick up the boys. It was much needed and enjoyed. I loved looking at pictures with you Miss M, riding the boys scooter around the block while you rode your tricycle, listening to you chatter all morning, and just being with you.
*Cleaning. Rarely will this be a joyful moment, but it was very cleansing today to clean out Emily's room and the boys room. I'm not one of those mothers who cleans their children's room. They are responsible for that. But tonight they did such a good job on the general clean up that I helped them out on their rooms. And it felt oh so good to get rid of the clutter they always leave behind after they "clean" their rooms. I challenged them to keep their bookcase clean and organized for a whole week. (A huge OCD thing for me). If they succeed (which they repeatedly reassured me they would) they will earn 20 minutes on the Wii on a school night (something that never happens). We'll see how it goes...

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
