* helping a friend in need. Something I couldn't have done if I wasn't a stay at home mom. Also, having a good friend serve me so I could serve someone else. I am lucky.
*Talking to another friend who always leaves me feeling inspired and better about myself. I haven't seen her for awhile and it was nice to see her (albeit briefly) and her baby's delicious leg rolls.
*Having all three of my kids recognize a family friend and shout his name as loud as possible trying to get his attention at Sam's club. We love him.
*Klint coming home and making noodles to finish dinner since I was still at Sam's club. Also, he had a crazy busy day and still managed to call me three times in between appointments. Joyful.
*A blissful evening outside again. The kids played doing all sorts of dangerous stunts on the swingset and I just sat on the soft grass picking out crab grass. Which by the way is a very strange variety it's soft and very easy to pull out. Kind of therapeutic for me tonight. After seeing the grass so dead when we first bought our house I never expected it to be as green as it is, or as soft as it is. It almost reminds me of Utah grass. Hallelujah.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
