*Having a husband who is bone tired and weary willingly take apart the sink to try and find a clog. Probably caused by the potato peels I put down the disposal a few days ago (who knew you couldn't do that No murmuring or complaining or even a look of "are you kidding me trish?" I scored HUGE when I got him. Man I love him.
*Justin choosing ME over a movie! If you know my kids you know they LOVE movies or anything on the TV. I was blown away when Justin asked if he could come with me to the store instead of watching a show. Seriously?!?! I loved it.
*Listening to baby birds chirp in the nest their parents built inside my flowering hanging pot.
*Watching the Sunflowers follow the sun all day long.
*walking with Klint to get another piece of pizza from the buffet. Not because I wanted another piece, but just because I wanted to be with him for those few moments.
*Enjoying the wonderful company of sisters from my Relief Society. I was uplifted and my soul was feed. I enjoy weeding (I know I'm sick) but I've never had 2 1/2 hours go by so quickly.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
