A great thing about living outside of Utah are the missionaries. In Utah, there are so many members that we never got to have the missionaries over for dinner. Here in Texas we could have them over just about every other week if we wanted.
Knowing we were going to have Elder Davies and Elder Olson come over for dinner this week, we had a fun family home evening about missionaries. For dinner we had a wonderful assortment of breakfast foods (strange but yum). We asked the Elders to prepare just a 2-4 minute spiritual thought about what it's like being a missionary. They did a fantastic job! They gave the boys a blow by blow of their daily life, but brought props (including a toothbrush) to help keep Justin and Matthew's attention. Elder Davies then dressed up Justin (Matthew was playing shy and wanted to just watch) as a missionary, badge and all, and taught him a door approach.
The Elders helped Junior Elder Hobbs give a brief first discussion to us, and let him keep the Book of Mormon, and a bunch of other stuff they give out on a first visit. Justin was thrilled to say the least. He thinks missionaries are just incredible and now is sure he wants to go on a mission when he's 19. What a great night. Klint then went on splits with some other Elders in the area and had some humbling, great experiences. We love this aspect of being outside of Utah!! Last Sunday we were able to witness a converts confirmation and her sweet strong testimony. What a boost. This was definitely a Texas night.

Cool! Our stake has a rule that if you invite the missionaries for dinner, you have to invite some non-members to come too! If you don't, the missionaries will cancel! We're not sure we're ready to take that leap yet... maybe sometime soon!
What a great experience. I loved the pictures and Justin's huge grin
What a fun night! I know what I'm doing in the next couple of weeks...calling the missionaries!
