*Emily said so many cute, funny things today. I wish I remembered them all. She threw up last night (twice). That's not so joyful, but Emily says she "burped and then spilled" I love that! I think that's a most fantastic description of throwing up for a two year old.
*Klint getting up with Emily, telling me to please try and go back to sleep and he would take care of things. wow. Why am I so blest?
*Sitting on our bed, all five of us watching a very funny show and laughing and eating a yummy snack.
*Reading to Matthew's class. deep sigh. I love doing that. It's energizing and fulfilling to watch their sweet faces lite with excitement over a good book.
*Justin being Justin. He's a peacemaker and such an obedient child. He motivates everyone to get our jobs done quickly and always goes the extra mile. He is a joy. Pure joy.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
