why is that I find a small amount of pleasure when I type the date 10/--/10? The 10-10 must play with my OCD side or something. Alas, it's who I am.
*Getting ready to play UNO with the boys (who had a half day from school---yea!) and I hear Matthew say, " hey someone's at our door (I immediately thought it was a salesman and sighed a loathing sigh--we've had a lot of salesmen lately)..it's dad!" My heart fluttered and I ran (I'm such a geek) to see if it really was him. It was!! He took the last three hours of the day off to spend with us. happy happy happy sigh. We played UNO and then all went to get flu shots. Shots are waaay more fun when Daddy comes. Klint made my whole week today. I'm smiling just thinking about it right now. I love him.
*I mistakenly went to pick up the boys from school 15minutes early. Instead of being a patient mama I went into the office and just checked them out. I actually got really excited when I heard the office door open and saw one red headed and one toe headed boy walk through the door. I love them!! I love the feelings of love and excitement I felt when I saw them. I just wanted to squeeze them. It was definitely a joyful moment for me, because it made me remember how dang lucky I am to be their mom.
*Family home evening with my peeps. Man I love those people. Our lesson was on sharing, a very timely lesson for Miss M, but it evolved into a very applicable lesson for everyone there, including me. I love how the spirit works. I learned so much and felt a few of those "aah haa" moments while I was trying to teach my children. I loved seeing Emily grasp the subject and I loved seeing her sharing her toys with everyone in the room. Having Ray there tonight was icing on the cake. We are really blest that he'll come and spend some evenings with us. He's family and for some reason he seems to like (or at least tolerate) our craziness.
* Emily walking into the kitchen with her Minnie Mouse poka dotted dress on, her hands firmly on her hips and a very stern look on her face. Klint commented that we all know who's in charge but Emily quickly corrected him and said, " No daddy...I'm here to tend my sheep. There are one...two..three...four...five...six sheep and forty over there." Her imagination has exploded these last few weeks and I'm so grateful I get to witness it. I'm really lucky to be at home when I can catch these spontaneous moments and find joy in them.
