*Praying with Klint. Saying personal prayers. Asking for help with a simple problem, and receiving the wisdom I needed to work through it. Sharing it with Klint. Realizing that instead of trying to be sooo independent all the time I should rely on my Heavenly Father more. Even on the little things like last night (I'm writing this the next day). Grateful.
*Seeing my boys run to the car after school. I love that very second they open the car door and step in. I feel their energy..their spirits...their personalities...whatever you want to call it and I love it. I get that giddy feeling that they are coming home. In all honestly that feeling doesn't always stay once we get home and have to get down to business (homework, snack, jobs, making dinner....), but it's always there that first time they open the car door.
*Having a very kind manager at Michael's let me use both of my coupons in one visit. It only saved me $4, but it was nice to not have to go back again (which I ended up doing anyways). I smiled all the way home.
*Being a nice driver. I slowed waaaay down to let someone come over in my lane. It felt nice to be a nice driver. I should probably be like that more often.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
