We've recently become acquainted with another of Lubbock's fascinating features... the dust storm. Around springtime the wind here kicks up a notch, and when you combine that with the prairie dirt you get massive storms. It's like fog, but brown, and it gets in your eyes and ears and on your teeth. Luckily it only happens once or twice a year really bad. I've included the pictures below to show you what's normal and what's dusty.
