Feeling pretty negative and low today....keepin' it real :-) Keep hearing that whisper to count my blessings. Ready to try just about anything...
*The beautiful weather outside. mid 80s with no wind. Our grass is starting to really green up and that makes me happy.
*Health Insurance. Health Insurance. Health Insurance.
*Knowing that people have it so much worse than I do, and grateful for what I got.
*I had the forsight this morning to put dinner in the crockpot. I must have known that after three afternoon doctors appointments I wouldn't feel like cooking :-)
*Klint will be home this evening...no work or meetings for him, just family time ;-)
*A sister who called me today to see how I was doing.
*a home health nurse/friend who texts me funny things and makes me smile. Like the suggestion to put neosporin up Cole's nose to act as an additional barrier against any germy bugs.
*I had ice cream in the freezer that I could give the kiddos for snack today...it's got protein and calcium in it... grateful for this because we don't have much of anything else :-)
*I have stores very close to me that I can get nutritious food at. Finding the time to go.....well I'm grateful that they are there.
*thinking of a friend named lindsey who makes me laugh all.the.time. Miss her.

Because of those "funkish" moments that I experience every once and while, I want to do as Elder Ballard counseled a few years ago and find joy in the moments of motherhood. To help me do that, I am going to try and write four motherly things that either (1) made me smile (2) appreciate the sweet three kids that have been entrusted to me (3) feel joy in my decision to raise a family and be a full time mom (4) recognize the Lords hand in helping me to be successful as a Latter Day Saint woman and mother.
I have to add that my life isn't perfect. I hope that if anyone ever comes across this blog and reads it (which I am doubtful of) and compares themselves to it, or feels guilt or bad about themselves that they'll realize these are the HIGH points of my life, not my every waking moments. I have terrible mothering moments all the time. And that's the problem, that's why I wanted to start this. I feel so much guilt (which I'm trying to only save for sin now) about the things I do wrong or could have done better, or didn't do at all, that it can be crippling on those funkish days. I'm not trying to pretend that my life is perfect or everything is rosy. Opposition in all things right? We have to have the bad to know the good, the sad to know the happy. Don't compare your low points with my high points. Deal?
